What is catheter tipping?

●Catheter tipping reason:

The shaping of the catheter tip is to facilitate the entry of the medical catheter into the patient’s blood vessel and reduce the damage to the patient’s blood vessel, so the end of the catheter is usually processed into a smooth tapered tip. There are mainly two processing methods for catheter tipping machines on the market, hot air type and hot melt type. Hot melt(induction heating) type machines account for the major market share. These two types can be divided into time power mode and closed-loop.

In China market, there is no hot air type catheter tipping machine. So we talk about induction heating catheter tipping machine’s two versions.

●Time power control catheter tipping machine:

Time power control mode is cheaper equipment options, Simple shapes and initial prototypes in low volumes are good fits for this technology. Unable to monitor temperature, possible overheating. For complex or long-formed catheters, it is difficult to adjust the appropriate parameters or even impossible to use.

●Closed-loop temperature control catheter tipping machine:

 Closed-Loop Process Control with temperature (thermocouple) sensor feedback, it maximize heat control and minimizes cycle time with a PID loop. Not only support tipping but also flaring, bonding.

Total cycle time, including product handling, tool alignment, heating/cooling times and secondary operations, can have a significant impact on operating costs. Consider the type of utilities, maintenance, and floor space required for the system. A system with a smaller overall footprint will enable more efficient use of your cleanroom space.
